Last October, I finally got the chance to go to London. It was a trip I'd wanted to make for some time, especially to see West End Spectacular 'Les Miserables' in it's bith place but due to the busyness that is life it had never really happened even though it's only an hour away by plane. However after a week in hospital in September my fiancé decided I deserved a treat and suggested we head for London just in time for the 30th anniversary of Les Miserables (he knows me so well)

We decided to take a 3 day trip - arriving on a Thursday and leaving on a Saturday. We booked our trip through Low Cost Holidays which meant we were able to get flights and hotel in one place. Simple is always better!

We decided to fly into Heathrow for ease (the tube is literally in the basement of Heathrow Airport) and we stayed in Bloomsbury at the Ambassador. While the room was a little small, the hotel was lovely, had great extras in the room including free wifi, Nespresso coffee machine and iPhone charging dock plus a wonderful history. I would recommend it to anyone going to London. It was so central with Euston and Kings Cross station both within a five minute walk of the hotel and the staff were absolutely lovely and so helpful.

Of course being in London meant we had to visit Big Ben, Kensington Gardens, Harrods,

Selfridges, Liberty, the Tower of London, The British Musuem and of course London Bridge. There were so many other things that we would have liked to see but we just didn't have enough time.

For me Les Miserables was the absolute highlight, but we also enjoyed cheering Ireland on to victory over Germany in an Irish pub down the street from the hotel while enjoying two cocktails for only £4. I could have totally got used to that!

London in general was just a buzz with so much energy. I had worried that my fiancé wouldn't enjoy it as he hates traveling to Dublin. He claims to hate big cities, but he enjoyed it so much that he said we'd go back to see all that we missed soon. I certainly can't wait to return to London and continue exploring this wonderful city.
